Escape

A man’s name and you are surely growing into it! So handsome and so capable!

By now you have new friends, some that will remain your friends and some who will become acquaintances. I hope most of them will become true friends that are happy for your happy times, cheer you on when tip in a basket, kick a field goal, make good on a test, and cheer you up when your ball misses the mark. Most of all, your true fiends will help you go to heaven. A really good friend will help you participate in the good and resist the evil and you will do the same for him/her/whichever.
Baby Jesus moved to a country stranger than Texas after he was born, not to find balmy weather or a better neighborhood but to escape.

That tiny baby needed to escape from the forces of evil sent by Satan via the orders of King Herod. The real Force was with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus as they managed to keep ahead of the soldiers who were sent to kill Jesus dead before he could grow up to be King. Ignorant and corrupt King Herod thought he would stop an earthly take-over of his domain!! How could he not have suspected that a baby whose birth brought a special star to lead the wise men would not also have a way of escape from his evil threat.
　
Blessed are we that the same baby grew up and gave us a way of escape from our own evil. He took our evil with him to the cross and forgave us. Also you have a promise that there is a way of escape from every evil temptation. (1 Corinthians 10:13) What a Savior!!!!…..but we have to choose to escape sin just as Jesus, Mary, and Joseph chose to move to Egypt for time.

Matthew 2:13  (NKJV) Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”

Perhaps you will pray, “Thank you, Dear Lord, for making a way for me to escape evil through Jesus as you did for baby Jesus.”
